If you're switching from a non-HDTV to an HDTV, you might need to change some of the settings on your Virgin Media V+ box.
When you switch to an HDTV, you'll need to use an 'HDMI' cable to connect your V+ box if you want to watch programmes in HD. You'll also need to change the output settings on your V+ box, which we'll go through here.
Connect an HDMI cable from your V+ box to the TV. If you've got more than one HDMI port on your TV, check the number on the one you put it into (HDMI 1, HDMI 2 etc).
Turn on your V+ box and TV. Use the source button on the TV remote to choose the right HDMI port.
On your V+ remote, press the Home button, then choose Settings.
Go to Change Display & Audio settings.
Click TV Display Format, and choose HiDef HDMI.
Pick the format for your new TV. It'll normally be 1080p.
Press OK to save the settings.
If everything's working, you should be seeing your TV in HD resolution.
