Here's how to get your Chromecast up and running.

1.

First, connect the small end of the USB cable to the Chromecast and plug it into one of the HDMI ports on your TV.

2.

If your TV has a powered USB port, you can use this to power your Chromecast instead of plugging it into a power socket, otherwise, you'll need to use the plug provided.

If you have an older TV, it might not have a powered USB port, so you'll need to plug it in using the plug supplied. If you're setting up a Chromecast Ultra, you'll need to use the mains power supply.

3.

The first screen you see on your TV when your Chromecast powers on will ask you to go to chromecast.com/setup but this just directs you to the download page for the Google Home app.

So skip this and open the Google Home app on your phone or tablet.
