When you first open it up, you’ll notice that the PSVR comes with lots of cables as well as the headset. It can seem quite daunting at first, but these steps will help you get it set up and will have you in virtual reality in no time.
First you need to connect the headphones to the VR headset. They only fit one way. The left-hand side has an audio jack for you to plug in, while the right-hand side is just a rubber clip. Make sure they’re firmly pushed in.
The earbuds should dangle down if you lift up the headset. Push the earbuds into the holes on the sides of the headset.
Now move onto the PlayStation/TV. Make sure they’re both turned off before you start plugging things in.
Unplug the HDMI cable from the back of the PlayStation and plug it into the HDMI TV slot on the back of the processor box.
Plug your PlayStation Camera into the console.
Take HDMI cable 1 and plug it into the PS4. Connect the other end to the HDMI PS4 slot on the processor box.
Get USB cable 2 and plug it into the front of the PS4 and the back of the processor unit.
Connect the AC adaptor to power cable 3, then to the PS4. Now you can plug it into a wall socket.
Connect the headset to the processor box using the two cables. Make sure you’ve got them going into the right slots.
Turn on your TV, PS4 and VR headset. Follow the instructions on screen for the rest of the setup.
Press Next on the first screen.
Read the ‘Warning’ then press Next.
Move the Camera and change your position so that you’re in the middle of the silhouette, then press OK.
Make sure the headphones haven’t fallen out, then press Next.
Press the button on the top-right of the headset and pull the scope fully out then press Next.
Keep hold of the button and move the scope until it fits your face comfortably, then let go. Press Next.
Pull the headband down the back of your head until it’s comfortable, then turn the dial to tighten it up. Press Next.
Move the headset around on your face until it’s in focus, then press Everything is Clear!
That’s the last step, so press OK to start playing.
