In this guide, we'll take you through some of the essentials of your phone, like making calls, sending texts, or setting alarms.

 

Making phone calls

Even though your phone can do a lot of amazing things, making calls is still one of its core features. Here's how to call people.

Open the Phone app from the Home screen.

Once it's open, you'll have some options:

  • Speed Dial: shows your favourite contacts, so you can call them quicker.
  • Recents: shows any recently placed, received or missed calls.
  • Contacts: shows a list of the contacts and numbers saved onto your phone.
  • Keypad button: gives you a keypad so you can dial a number.

When you've got a number onscreen, tap the green phone button to call it.

Sending texts & multimedia messages (MMS)

In this section of the guide, we'll show you how to send text messages, and how to add attachments (like pictures or videos).

Open the Messaging app from the Home screen.

2.

Tap the new message button in the top-right, or tap a person's name to reply to them.

3.

If you're writing a new message, tap the To box, and start typing a person's number or name. Suggestions might show as you type - tap one to choose them.

4.

Tap the Type text message box, and write your message.

5.

Tap the arrow on the right to send the text.

Sending attachments & multimedia messages (MMS)

To send an attachment (like a picture), follow steps 1-4 above, then go through these steps.

Tap the + button on the left of the message box.

2.

Tap the type of item you want to send - a picture, video etc.

3.

Go through the phone to find the file you want to attach, and tap it.

4.

With it attached, tap the arrow to send it.

Deleting a message thread

A message thread is all the texts sent between you and another contact. To delete one:

1.

Open the Messages app.

2.

Press and hold the thread you want to delete, until a tick shows next to it.

3.

Press the Bin icon at the top.

Sending emails

You'll need to to have set up an email account on your phone before you can send emails. If you haven't set one up, read through our ZTE Blade A110 Setup guide to see how.

Open the Email app from the Home screen.

2.

Tap the new email button in the bottom-right.

3.

Tap the To box, and start typing a person's email address or name. Suggestions might show as you type - tap one to choose them.

Type in a subject for your email.

Tap into the bottom box, and write your email.

Adding an attachment

To add an attachment to an email, follow steps 1-5 above, then go through these steps.

Tap the paperclip in the top-right.

2.

Tap Attach file.

3.

Tap the type of thing you want to send - a picture, video etc.

4.

Go through the phone to find the item you want to attach, and tap it.

5.

With it attached, tap the arrow in the top-right to get it on its way.

Setting alarms

Setting alarms on your phone can be very useful, and you can have more than one set up at a time. We'll go through the options here.

Open the Clock app from the Home screen.

2.

Tap the alarm icon in the top-left.

3.

Tap the button at the bottom of the screen.

4.

Use the clock to set the hour and minute you want the alarm to go off.

Tap OK.

Tap Repeat, and choose the days you want the alarm to go off.

Tap the alarm bell to choose a different ringtone.

8.

Tap Label to give the alarm a name, like 'work' or 'school'.

Your alarm is set - ready to go off at the time you've set.
