Kit Guide: ZTE Axon 7 Mini - using it

Now that you've got your phone set up, you'll want start using it. This guide will help you get to grips with the basics, like making calls and sending emails.

1. Making phone calls

The first thing we'll look at is how to make phone calls, this is something that you'll probably do a lot, so you'll become familiar with it in no time.

When the phone app opens, you'll see the 'Dialler keypad', you can enter a number directly into here, then tap the green call button to make a call.

2. Sending texts & multimedia messages (MMS)

Open the Messaging app from your Home screen (it looks like a speech bubble).

2.

Tap the new message button in the bottom-right (it looks like a white pen in a blue circle), or tap a person's name to reply to them.

3.

If you're sending a new message, type the name of the contact, then type your message in the box at the bottom.

4.

Tap the blue arrow to send the text.

Follow steps 1-4 above to get your text ready, then tap the paperclip.

Using the icons at the bottom, find the item you want to send, and tap it to choose it.

Tap the blue arrow to send your message with the attachment.

Deleting a message thread

A 'message thread' is a list of all of the messages sent between you and a contact. Here's how to delete them.

Open the Messaging app, then press and hold on the message thread you want to delete, until a tick appears. Tap the bin icon at the top to delete the thread.

3. Sending emails

You'll need to have set up an email account on your phone before you can send any emails.

Open the Email app from the Home screen, and tap the new message button in the bottom-right corner (it looks like a white pen in a red circle).

Tap the To box, and start typing a person's name, or email address. Suggestions might appear as you type - tap one to choose them, or type in a full email address.

Add a subject, and type your message.

4.

To send your email, tap the white arrow at the top of the screen.

Adding an attachment

Follow steps 1-4 (above) to get your email ready, then go through these steps to add an attachment.

  1. Tap the paperclip at the top of the screen.

Find the item you want to attach. If you're adding images, you might be asked to resize them. This can be helpful if you're using mobile data, because your email will send quicker, but the images might not look as good.

3.

Tap the white arrow in the top-right to send the email with the attachments.

4. Setting alarms

Open the Clock app from the Home screen.

Tap the Alarm clock icon in the top-left.

Choose a time using the hour and minute sliders.

Pick the days you want the alarm to sound on.

Using the tabs at the top of the screen, you can change the alarm tone if you want.

Tap Ok to save it.
