Now that you know how to get the basics done on your phone, read through our tips to help you get a bit more out of it.

Device connection

This is a part of your phone settings that groups together all the options for connecting with other kit. These include:

  • One-touch setup: lets you quickly connect more than one Xperia device together.
  • Throw: this lets you send content, like photos or videos, from your phone to your TV, letting you see them on a bigger screen.
  • Screen mirroring: shows your phone screen on another display that works with 'Miracast'.
  • Cast screen: shows your phone screen on another display or device that works with 'Chromecast'.
  • Media server: lets other devices see the contents of your phone.

Improving battery life

Your Z5 Compact comes with some power saving modes that can help you get more battery life from it. To use one, go to Settings > Power Management and choose a mode.

  • Stamina mode: switches off some features of your phone to save battery.
  • Ultra stamina mode: turns off everything except the phone's core apps - phone, messaging, calculator etc. to save even more power.
  • Low power mode: works similar to Stamina mode, but only comes on when your phone battery is low.

Keep an eye on data usage

If you have a monthly data limit, this can help you to track how much data you've used.

squiggle

Go to Settings > Data usage

In here, you'll be able to see how much data you've used over the past month, and if you scroll a bit further down, you can see what apps have been using the most data.

You can turn the switch on for 'Set mobile data limit', and then put in what your monthly limit is. Your phone can then warn you if you get close to the limit and can turn data off if your hit the limit

Hopefully that should be all the help you need to use your phone, and if you want some extra help, you can get in touch with our Team Knowhow Experts here.
