In this guide we're going to walk through some of the essentials of your phone, like making calls, sending texts and setting alarms.
The XZ phone can do a lot of impressive things, but one of its core features is still making calls. Here, we'll go through all the options.
Open the Phone app from the Home screen.
You'll have a few different options.
When you have a number or contact onscreen, tap the green phone button to call them.
In this part of the guide, we'll go through how to send texts, or attachments like pictures.
Start by opening the Messages app from the Home screen.
Tap the new message button in the bottom-right, or tap a person's name to reply to them.
If you're writing a new message, tap the Enter recipient box, and start typing a person's number or name. You might get some suggestions from your contacts - tap one to choose them.
Tap the Write message box, and type your text, then tap the arrow to send the message on its way.
Follow steps 1-4 (above) to get your text ready, and then follow these steps that show how to add an attachment.
Under the message box is a row of icons for different attachment types. Tap the sort of thing you want to attach - a picture, video, sound recording etc.
Go through the phone to find the item you want to send, and tap it.
Tap the arrow to send the attachment.
A 'message thread' is all the messages sent between you and a contact. To delete one:
Open the Messages app.
Press and hold the thread you want to delete until a tickbox shows next to it.
Tap the bin in the top-right to delete it.

Open the Email app from the Home screen, and tap the new message button at the bottom-right.
Tap the To box, and start typing a person's email address or name. Suggestions from your contacts might show - tap one to choose them.
Type a subject for your email, and write your email into the box at the bottom.
Tap the arrow in the top-right to send the email on its way.
Tap the paperclip in the top-right.
Choose the type of thing you want to attach - a picture, video etc.
Go through the phone to find the item you want to send, and tap it to add it to your message.
With it attached, tap the arrow in the top-right to get it sent.
You can set and change alarms on your Xperia XZ using the Alarm & Clock app. You can set up multiple alarms, and we'll go through the options for them here.
Open the Alarm & Clock app from the Home screen.
Tap the + button in the bottom-right.
Tap Time, then use the clock to set the hour and minute you want the alarm to go off.
Once you've picked a time, tap OK.
