squiggleboldXL

To use a phone for the first time, you'll need to set it up. This super-helpful guide will take you through everything from putting the SIM card in, to setting up your email accounts.

Box contents

This is the stuff you'll get in your box:

  • Sony Xperia E4
  • Mains power adapter
  • USB media cable
  • Screen protector
  • Information pack

Inserting your SIM & memory cards

Putting the SIM card in is your first job. The back cover wraps around the sides of the phone, so starting with the corners, push it away from the back of the phone and you should be able to take it off.

Looking at the back of the phone, there's a slot labelled 'SIM' on the right-hand side. It slides in with the cut-off corner first, and the gold contacts facing away from you.

If you've got a memory card to put in as well, there's another slot further down labelled 'microSD'. Only one end will fit in the slot, but the gold contacts need to face away from you.

Completing the Xperia E4 Setup Wizard

To set the phone up, you'll need to do some steps called the 'Setup Wizard'. Don't worry, we've explained all the steps below.

Setting it up

Turn the phone on by pressing and holding the power button. You can let it go when you feel the phone vibrate.

3.

Choose how you want to connect to the internet. We recommend choosing Mobile network and Wi-Fi, unless you don't have a data plan. Press the right arrow when you've picked.

15.

You'll be asked for payment information because some apps aren't free. Tap an option to set it up, or press Skip and you'll be asked to pay each time instead.
