Kit Guide: Samsung Core Prime - using it

We've written this guide to help you get more familiar with using the basics of your Samsung Core Prime.

1. Making phone calls

One of the main things we use our phones for is making calls. Learn about doing it on the Core Prime below.

Press the Phone icon on your Home screen (it looks like a green box with a white phone in it).

 
 
 
 
Core Prime Calls
1.

The app opens to the dial pad. Type in a number if you know it, and then press the green phone to make the call.

2.

Tap any matching people that appear.

3.

If you want to look through your contacts instead, press Contacts at the top and scroll through them. Tap the one you want.

4.

Press the green phone to call them.

2. Sending texts & multimedia messages (MMS)

Sending texts is another popular way to keep in touch, so here's some steps to help you with it.

1.

Tap the Messaging icon (the white envelope) on the Home screen and you'll see your inbox. Press the pen and paper at the top to write a new message.

2.

Press the Enter recipients box and type in the name or number you want.

3.

You can tap matching contacts to add them.

4.

Type your message in the 'Enter message' box, and then press the yellow envelope to send it.

Sending attachments & multimedia messages (MMS)

You can add things like pictures and videos to your texts, but bear in mind that it might cost you money. Check with your network about charges.

 
 
 
 
Core Prime Messages 2
1.

Write your text message as above, and then press the paperclip on the right-hand side.

2.

Press the file type you want to add.

3.

Look through your items and then tap the one you want. It'll get a tick in the top-left corner. Press Done.

4.

You'll see the item above your message. Press the yellow envelope to send it.

Deleting a message thread

A 'message thread' is the all the texts between you and someone else. To delete one, press and hold on the one you want to get rid of. A tick will appear next to it. Press the bin icon in the top-right corner to get rid of it.

3. Sending emails

Before you start, you'll need to have the account set up that you're sending the email from.

Sending an email

To open your inbox, press Apps > Email (or GMail, if that's the account you set up).

1.

To write a new email, press the pen and paper icon in the bottom-left corner.

2.

In the 'To' box, type the name or email address of the person you're emailing.

3.

Type a subject for the email in the 'Subject' box.

4.

Write your message in the white box, and then press the white envelope at the top to send it.

Adding an attachment

If you want to add pictures, videos or other files to your email, we've got steps on it below.

 
 
 
 
1.

Write your email following the above steps, and then press the paperclip at the top.

2.

Choose what type you're adding, and then tap the picture or file you want (it'll get a tick in the corner of it).

3.

You might be asked to resize a picture. Tap a size and it'll be added to your email.

4.

When you're finished, press the white envelope to send it.

4. Setting alarms

Your phone has a built-in alarm clock that can wake you up or remind you of an event. We're written some steps to help you set one.

 
 
 
 
Core Prime Alarm 1
1.

Open the 'Clock' app by pressing Apps > Clock.

2.

Press the Alarms tab at the top, and then the + to add a new one.

3.

Tap the arrows to change the time to what you want.

4.

Press Repeat and tap the days you want the alarm to repeat, and then tap OK. Press Save in the top-right corner when you're finished.

You can also change the tone and volume of the alarm.
