Kit Guide: Samsung Galaxy A3 - using it

We've written this guide help you use the main features of the phone.

1. Making phone calls

Tap the phone icon from the Home screen.

 

2.

You'll see the phone dialler keypad, use this to type the number you want to call, then tap the green phone button to make a call.

 

3.

Tap Contacts at the top to see a list of your contacts.

 

4.

When a contact is displayed, tap the phone icon to call them.

2. Sending texts & multimedia messages (MMS)

These steps will show you how to send text messages, and also how to attach pictures.

From your Home screen, tap the Messaging app. The icon is a white speech bubble with a smiley face.

2.

Tap the compose button, which is a pen and paper.

 

3.

Tap in the top box, and type your contact's number or name. Tap the contact you want to send your message to.

 

4.

Tap in the Enter message box, and type your message.

 

5.

To send your message, tap the send button (orange envelope).

 

Sending attachments & multimedia messages (MMS)

Follow the steps 1 - 4 above, and tap the paperclip.

 

2.

A menu will appear letting you you choose the file(s) you want to attach. You can also take a new photo, video, or voice recording. Remember that you might be charged to send MMS messages - check with your provider about costs.

 

3.

Your attachment(s) will show in the body of the message. Tap the send button when you're done.

 

Deleting a message thread

1.

Open the Messaging app.

 

2.

Find the thread you want to delete and tap on hold on the name,

 

3.

A tickbox will appear. Choose more threads if you want to delete them as well, and tap the bin.

3. Sending emails

This part of our guide will show you how to send emails from your phone. You'll need to have email set up on your phone already.

Go to Apps > Email.

 

2.

Tap the compose button, which is a white pen and paper.

 

3.

Tap in the To line and start to type a contact's name. Tap the one(s) you want to email.

 

4.

Add a subject by tapping into the Subject line..

 

5.

Tap in the white space below the Subject line to write a message.

 

6.

Tap the envelope at the top to send.

Follow the steps 1 - 5 above, then tap the paperclip.

2.

Use the menu to find the file(s) you want to attach, and tap to add them.

 

3.

You'll be asked if you want to resize any images. This is helpful if you're using mobile internet, as they can use a lot of data.

 

4.

Tap the envelope to send your email.

4. Setting alarms

Tap Apps then Clock from the Home screen.

 

2.

Tap the to set an alarm.

 

3.

Use the arrows to choose the hours and minutes.

 

4.

You can set the alarm to sound on certain days (like weekdays), then tap OK.

You can also edit the melody, volume, vibration, and snooze duration for each alarm. Tap Save when you're done.

 

6.

The alarm will show in the menu, with a green alarm clock if it's active. Tap it if you want to turn the alarm off.
