Now that your phone's up and running, this guide will help you get up to speed with some of the core features of your Moto G5, like making calls and sending texts.
Use these steps to start chatting on your Moto G5.
Texting is usually quicker than calling, so these steps will get you a bit more familiar with it.
Open the Messaging app (the two speech bubbles) from the Home screen, then press the + for a new message.
Write the contacts name or mobile number in the 'To' box.
Write your text in the box below it, then press the right arrow when you're ready to send it.
It's possible to add pictures, videos and other files to your texts. This turns them into MMS messages, which are chargeable, so we recommend checking with your network about costs first.
Write your text message, then tap the + on the left of the text box.
Choose the icon to find where your item is.
Tap what you want to attach and it'll be added as a preview to your message.
When you're happy with it, press the right arrow to send it.
A conversation between you and another person is known as a message 'thread'. To delete a full one, open up your inbox, then press and hold on the one you want to get rid of. When it's got a tick next to it, you can tap the bin icon at the top to delete it.
Another quick and easy way to send messages is by email. These steps will get you going with it.
You'll need the email account set up on your phone before you can start. Have a look at our Setup Guide for help doing it.
Open your Email inbox, then tap the pen icon in the bottom-right corner.
Type the persons name or email address in the 'To' box.
Add a Subject to the 'Subject' box if you want.
Write your email in the box that's left, then press the right arrow at the top to send it.
Write out your email, then tap the paperclip at the top.
Pick where the file is.
Tap the ones you want to add them to your email.
You'll see them previewed above your message. Press the right arrow when you're ready to send.
A convenient way to stay on time for things is to use the alarm in your phone. Here's how.
Go to Apps > Clock, then tap the + in the bottom-middle.
Drag the outer circle around to the hour you want to set.
Do the same with the inner circle to set the minutes, then press OK.
You'll see the alarm set in the list now.
