5. Tips

squiggle

Now that you know how to do the basics of your phone, these tips will help you to get a bit more out of it.

Monitoring your data usage

Most mobile contracts or pay as you go plans will have a limit on how much mobile data you can use, or may charge you lots if you use too much. You can use your phone's Data usage feature to keep track of how much data you've used, or set monthly limits to make sure you don't go over.

Go to Settings > Data Usage Mobile

In here you'll be able to see what's been using your data, and when. Turn the switch for 'Set mobile data limit' on, and you can tell the phone what your monthly allowance is, and then your phone will alert you if you get close to it or go over it.

Checking your battery usage

If you find your battery doesn't last as long as you'd like, you can use the phone's battery monitor to see what's using up your power.

Go to Settings Battery and you can see what apps or features have been using the most battery. Tap Power saving mode to see the options you have for saving more power. One of the options is Lenovo's Extreme power saving mode, which will turn off everything except the phone, messages contacts and alarms.

Hopefully that should be everything you need to start using your phone, but if you'd like any more help with it, you can get in touch with our Team Knowhow Experts here.
