Huawei Y3 - using it

Getting to grips with a new phone can be confusing, so we've written these steps to help you get a bit more familiar with using the basics.

We've written a couple of steps below to help you send a text message.

Sending texts

1.

Open messages by tapping the Messaging icon (it looks like a speech bubble in a blue square).

2.

Your inbox will open. Write a new message by pressing Compose at the bottom.

3.

Tap the Type name or number box and type in a contacts name or mobile number (you can tap the matching one if it comes up).

4.

Tap the Type text message box and write your message. When you're ready, press the blue arrow to send.

Sending attachments & multimedia messages (MMS)

You can add pictures, videos and other things to your messages, but they do use mobile data, and to send them can cost money. We'd recommend checking with your network about these charges.

send text
1.

Write your message first, and then press the + on the left of the text box.

2.

Choose what you want to add. 'Capture picture' and 'Capture video' will let you take new ones to send.

3.

When you've got what you want to add, press the tick in the top-right corner.

4.

You'll get a preview of your attachment that you can change if you need to. Press the blue arrow to send it.

Deleting a message thread

The conversations between you and another person are grouped into 'threads'. To delete a full conversation, press and hold the one you're deleting and a tick will appear next to them. Just tap the Bin icon at the top and it'll be gone.

3. Sending emails

Lots of us rely on our phone to wake us up in the mornings instead of an alarm clock, so we've written these steps to help you set those important alarms.

The alarm is set using the 'Clock' app, so swipe your Home screen to the left and tap Clock.

set alarm
1.

To set a new alarm, press Alarm at the top.

2.

Press Add alarm to set it up.

3.

Scroll through the numbers until the time you want is inside the circles.

You can change the tone and repeat options too, and then when you're happy, press the tick in the top-right corner.

That's the Huawei Y3 all set up, and you should be a bit more familiar with it now. If you need any more help though, contact Team Knowhow here.
