Phone calls on the Huawei P8 Lite are handled by the phone app, which is in the bottom-left corner of the Home screen. Tap it to get started. The app will open to the dialler. Dial a number, then press the green phone icon to call it. Tap the Contacts button to view all your contacts. Tap one to see their info, then tap their number to call them.
Your P8 Lite can send texts with attachments using the Messaging app, which is on the bottom row of icons on the Home screen.
From the Home screen, tap the Messaging app.
To make a new message, tap + New Message, or tap a person's name to reply to them.
If you're writing a new message, tap the To box, and start typing a person's name or number. As you type, suggestions from your contacts may show up - tap one to choose them.
Tap the Type message box, and write your text.
Tap the arrow to send the text.
Follow steps 1-4 (above) to get your message ready, then follow these steps to add an attachment.
Tap the + button next to the message box.
Choose the type of thing you want to attach - pictures, video etc.
Go through your phone to find the item, and tap it to attach it.
Tap the arrow to send the message with the attachment.
You must have set up an email account before you can send email - if you haven't already added one, read our Huawei P8 Lite Set up Guide for help doing this. Your P8 Lite can send emails and attachments using the Gmail app.
From the Home screen, open the Gmail app.
Tap the new message button in the bottom-right.
Tap the To box, and start typing a person's email address. As you type suggestions might show - tap one to choose them.
Type a subject for your email.
Tap Compose email, and type your email.
Tap the arrow in the top-right to send the email.
Follow steps 1-5 (above) to get your email ready, then follow these steps to add an attachment.
Tap the paperclip in the top-right corner.
Tap Attach file.
Go through your phone and find the item you want to send. Tap it to add it to your email.
Tap the arrow in the top-right corner to send it.
Setting and changing alarms is done using the Clock app, which you can find on your Home screen.
Open the Clock app.
Tap Alarm at the top.
You might already have some alarms here - tap one to change it, or tap + Add to set up a new one.
Use the time sliders to set the time you want the alarm to go off.
Tap Repeat, and choose the days you want the alarm to sound.
Tap Ring tone to change the sound the alarm makes, and use the Vibrate switch to turn vibration on or off.
Give the alarm a label, like 'work' or 'school'.
Tap the Tick at the top to save the alarm.
You can use some gestures to quickly perform certain actions on your phone. To turn them on, go to Settings > Motion control.
You can use the search to find things on your phone - contacts, messages, photos etc. To open search, swipe downwards in the middle of the screen, and the search box will show at the top. You can type in anything you want to search for, and there's an option to search online too.
