There are a few things that can stop your Blackberry from connecting to the internet. We've listed them below, so just go through them until you find a fix the works.

Fix 1: Reset your connection

The first thing to try is just resetting the connection - you can do this by turning off the mobile data connection and turning it back on again.

1.

Open the Main menu

2.

Press Manage connections.

3.

Untick the box next to the name of your mobile network.

4.

Wait a few seconds, then press the empty box to turn it back on.

Fix 2: Remove and replace the battery

Removing the battery hard-resets the phone, so if resetting the internet connection doesn't work, this might help.

Just turn the phone off and take the battery out of the back. Wait a few minutes, then put it back and turn the phone on again.

Fix 3: Resend the Host Routing Tables

The Host Routing Tables are the specific settings the phone uses to connect to the internet. They usually work behind the scenes, but sometimes they need updating manually. Follow these steps to give it a try.

1.

Open the Options menu.

2.

Tap Device.

3.

Press Advanced System Settings.

4.

Tap Host Routing Table.

5.

Hold down the Menu button and press Register now when the option appears.

The Host Routing Tables will now update with the latest settings from Blackberry.

Fix 4: Check that the mobile network is working properly

If you've tried everything else, the mobile network might be down. The steps below explain how to check.

1.

Open the Main menu.

2.

Choose Manage connections.

3.

Press Service status.

'Mobile Network' and 'Blackberry Internet Service' should both show as active. If they're not, there's a problem with the network or the device itself.

Blackberry 10 internet settings work differently to older versions. So, if you've upgraded and are having trouble getting online, these steps should help you out.

Fix 1: Check that mobile internet is turned on

Mobile data needs to be switched on before your Blackberry can connect to internet.

1.

Open the Settings menu.

2.

Tap Network and Connections.

3.

Press Mobile Network.

4.

Make sure the Data Services options is switched on. If it's not, tap it to turn it on.

Fix 2: Reset the device

Sometimes a phone just needs its internet settings reset. The easiest way to do this is to turn the phone off, remove the battery, and wait. After a few minutes, put the battery back in and turn it on.

Fix 3: Check the APN settings

Unlike older versions of the operating system, Blackberry 10 uses Access Point Name (APN) settings to connect to the internet. If these change or get removed for some reason, the phone won't be able to get online. Although it sounds complicated, manually checking these settings isn't difficult. We cover it in full detail in this guide.
