This guide is going to help you with some of the core features of your iPhone, from making calls to setting alarms.
Making phone calls is done using the Phone app, which you can find in the bottom-left corner of the Home screen.
When you open the app, you see five tabs along the bottom:
When you have an incoming call, there are a couple of different ways to answer it, depending on whether or not your phone is unlocked.
To send texts and attachments, open the Messages app from the Home screen.
With the app open, the new message button in the top-right, or tap a person's name to reply to them.
If you're writing a new message, tap the To button and start typing a person's name or number. Suggestions from your contacts might show as your typing - tap one to choose them.
Tap the message box at the bottom and start typing your text.
Tap the send button on the right to send the text.
Follow steps 1-3 above to get your message ready, and then these steps will show you how to add an attachment.
Tap one of the buttons to the left of the message box:
Once you've added an attachment, tap the send button.
Press and hold the message you want to delete, until a menu pops up.
Tap the bin icon at the bottom.
Tap Delete Message.
Before you can send emails, you'll need to have added an email account to your phone.
Open the Mail app from the Home screen.
Tap the new message button in the bottom-right.
Tap the To box, and start typing a person's name or email address. Suggestions from your contacts might show - tap one to choose them.
Type a subject for your email.
Type your message at the bottom.
Tap the Send button in the top-right to send the email.
Follow steps 1-5 above to get your email ready, then follow these steps.
Press and hold in a blank space in your email, until you get a pop-up menu.
Tap the right arrow to see the attachment options:
Go through the phone, and find the item you want to attach.
Tap an item to add it to your email.
Tap the Send button to send the email, with the attachment.
Alarms are set and changed using the Clock app - open this up to get started.
With the app open, tap the Alarm button at the bottom.
Tap the + button in the top-right.
Use the hour and minute sliders to set the time you want it to go off.
Tap Repeat and choose the days you want it to sound.
Tap Label to give the alarm a name, like 'work' or 'school'.
Tap Sound to choose the ringtone for the Alarm.
Use the switch to turn Snooze on or off.
Tap the Save button in the top-right.
Your alarm is set, and will go off at the time and days you've chosen.
Now that you know more about using your phone, here are some tips to help you get a bit more out of it.
You can keep an eye on what's using your battery by going to Settings > Battery.
In here, you can see a list of all the apps that have been using your battery. You can use this info to see which apps are using the most battery, and close apps that you don't need to use.
Sending voice messages is very similar to sending a text.
Open the Messages app and find the person you want to send a voice message to.
Press and hold the microphone on the message box, and your phone will start recording.
Say the message you want to send, and let go when you're done.
Press the send button to send the voice message.
Your phone comes with some tools for you to edit photos.
When you're looking at a photo, tap the edit button at the bottom, and you'll be shown all the editing tools. You can:
