Finding your IMEI on your Samsung phone

An 'IMEI number' is a code that is unique to every device that connects to a mobile network. It's normally needed if you want to unlock your phone, trade it in, or if you need to report it as lost or stolen.

You can find the IMEI for your Samsung phone using the phone dialler, or in its settings.

Finding the IMEI using the phone dialler

You can follow this method on any phone, and it will always bring up the IMEI number.

From the Home screen, tap the Phone icon.

Once you've dialled that code, you'll get a pop-up in the middle of your screen showing your IMEI.

Finding the IMEI in the Settings

You can also find the IMEI number in your kit's Settings menu, along with some other useful info - like your phone's model number and Android version.

These steps will work for any phone after the Galaxy S6, including the Galaxy S7, S8 and Note 5.
