Managing your phone remotely

If you have a Samsung account, you can use it to manage your phone remotely. Go to the Samsung account website and log in with your account details.

You'll see a range of options which let you manage your J1:

  • Ring my device: makes the phone ring for one minute, even if it's on silent. This is handy for finding it if you've misplaced it but turned the sound off.
  • Locate my device: shows your phone on a map, so you can find it even if you're not in the same location.
  • Lock my screen: allows you to lock the phone, while 'Unlock my screen' disables the lock screen if you've forgotten your PIN or Pattern.
  • Wipe my device: removes all of your data and returns the phone to factory settings.

If you haven't set up a Samsung account, open the Settings menu (it's the app shaped like a cog), and pick Add account.
