The first thing we'll show you is how to make calls on your Galaxy A5.
From your Home screen, tap the Phone icon.
You'll see the 'dialler keypad'. Enter a number and press the green button to start the call.
To call one of your contacts, tap on the Contacts tab, tap on the contact you want to call and press the green phone icon.
You can send basic texts from your phone and picture messages. Here's how.
From your Home screen, tap the Messages app.
Tap the new message icon (it looks like a white pen and paper on an orange circle).
In the Enter recipient box, either type a mobile number directly, or start typing the name of a contact - you might see some suggestions appear, just tap the one you want.
Type your message into the Enter message box.
To send your message, just tap Send.
Follow the steps above to get your message ready - but don't send it yet.
Tap the paperclip, and find the file you want to attach using the icons. When you've found it, tap it.
Your attachment will be added to your message. Tap Send.
A message thread is a series of messages between you and a contact. Your phone can store thousands of texts, but it's a good idea to delete some of them every so often.
Tap and hold the name of the thread you want to delete.
When you see the tickbox, tap Delete.
Emails are great if you need to send a lot of information, or add lots of attachments. Our simple steps will help you get up to speed with emailing and sending attachments.
From your Apps list, tap Email.
Tap the Compose button (which looks like a white pen on a red circle).
Tap into the To line and start typing a contact's name to see any matching contacts - tap one to choose them. You can also type in a full email address if you want.
Type a Subject into the subject line.
Type your message into the Compose email box.
To send your message, tap the white arrow at the top of the screen.
Follow step 1-5 to get your message ready.
Tap the paperclip icon.
Using the icons, find the item you want to attach to your message. Tap it to add it to your email.
If you're sending an image, you might be asked whether you want to resize it. Resizing can be helpful if you're not using Wi-Fi because sending large attachments can use lots of data (if you resize them though, they might not look as good). Tap the white arrow to send your email.
You can set and save lots of different alarms on your Galaxy A5 - use them as reminders, or as your morning wake up call. Here's how to set alarms on your phone.
From your Home screen, tap Apps > Clock.
Set a new alarm by dragging your finger up or down on the time, then tap Save.
Pick which days you want the alarm to repeat on.
Tap Options to see some more settings, like 'Snooze', 'Volume' or 'Alarm tone'. Change these if you want to, and tap Save to set your alarm.
You'll see the alarm, with a green alarm clock next to it. Tap the alarm clock to turn it on or off.
