Follow these steps to learn how to make a call from your phone.
Tap the Phone icon from the Home screen.
Tap the blue keypad to bring up the number pad.
Type your number, and tap the green button to start the call. You can also use the numbers that correspond to letters to type a name. Matching contacts will appear - tap the one you want to call.
You can tap in the search box at the top to look for a contact. Tap their name to call them.
To see your call history, tap the phone app, and tap the clock. You'll see all incoming and outgoing calls. If you tap on the people icon, you'll see your list of contacts.
These steps will show you how to send texts and MMS messages on your phone.
Tap the Messaging app, which looks like white and blue speech bubbles. If you have unread messages, you'll see a badge in the corner.
Tap compose, which looks like a speech bubble with a + symbol.
Tap in the To box.
Type a mobile number using the keyboard, or you can type a contact's name. Tap the contact you want to message.
Tap in the Write message box, and type your message.
Tap the grey arrow to send a text message.
Follow the steps 1 - 5 above, and tap the paperclip.
Options appear letting you choose what you'd like to attach using the menu. You can also take a new picture, video, or voice recording.
Tap the grey arrow to send.
Tap the messaging app.
Tap and hold on the thread you want to delete.
Tap the tickbox when you see it to pick the thread, and tap the bin to delete.
To send an email on your Moto X Play, you'll need to have the account set up on the phone. In our steps below, we're using the Gmail app.
Tap the Gmail app from the Google folder.
Tap the compose button, which is a red circle with a pen on it.
New emails will send from your default email account - usually the one you added first. To change this, tap the down arrow next to the From line, and change the email address.
Tap in the To line to type your contact's name. Tap from the matching contacts.
You can add more contacts, and type a Subject in the next line. Tap in the Compose email box.
Use the keyboard to type your message. Tap the right arrow at the top to send.
Tap the paperclip to add an attachment. Tap Insert from Drive if you want to attach from your Google Drive, if it's linked to the phone. Go through the menu to find the item(s) you want, then tap to add them to your email.
Tap the right arrow to send.
Your Moto X Play can set more than one alarm, and you can customise each one with their own melody, vibration, and snooze options.
Tap Apps then Clock, or tap the clock on your Home screen.
Tap the alarm clock symbol to set an alarm.
Tap the red circle with the + inside to set an alarm.
Drag the red circle to pick the hour. Do the same for the minutes.
Tap OK when you've finished. You can choose to repeat the alarm on several days (like weekdays). You can also change the alarm tone, and give it a label to tell it apart from other alarms.
