Can't remember the password for your BlackBerry? Don't panic, we'll show you what to do.
BlackBerry phones are well known for being extremely secure, with good reason. If your phone won't accept the password you're trying, the only thing you can do is wipe and reinstall the phone's operating system. It'll get rid of the password issue, but it'll also wipe all your data from the phone.
When it restarts, you'll see the setup wizard as if it were a brand new phone. Once you've set it up again, you can restore a backup to your phone – if you've made one.
BlackBerry phones like the Passport, Classic, Z30 & Q10 are powered by the BlackBerry 10 operating system. Use BlackBerry Link on a PC or Mac to manage the phone and reinstall its software.
Older models like the Bold, Curve and Torch use the BlackBerry Operating System (BBOS). Use BlackBerry Desktop Software to manage them, and reinstall their software.
Many recent BlackBerry phones like the Priv, KeyONE and DTEK range run a version of Android. If you have one of these, read our guide to getting back into a locked Android phone for more help.
