Find My iPhone (or Find My iPad) links your Apple ID (iCloud account) to your kit, so that you can find it or wipe it remotely. That's great to help prevent your kit from being stolen, but if you want to sell it or book it in for repair, you'll need to take Find My iPhone (FMIP) off your kit first.
If it's working, turn off Find My iPhone through the Settings menu:
Tap your name at the top of the Settings menu.
Tap iCloud > Find My iPhone.
If the switch is on (green), tap to turn it off.
Type your Apple ID password then tap Turn off.
If your iPhone isn't working, or something's stopping you using it, like a broken screen, log into the iCloud website to remove FMIP:
Turn the phone off.
Click Remove from Account.
Click Remove on the pop-up window to finish.
If you turn your kit back on and it connects to the internet, FMIP will turn on again. If that happens, follow the steps in the next section to wipe it.
If you've sold the iPhone or it's already been sent off for repair, you might have to wipe it remotely before you can turn off FMIP.
Click Remove from Account to disable FMIP on the kit.
