You might have noticed that there are coils on the back of your fridge and freeze - they capture heat and move it away from the inside to keep it cool.
To keep your fridge freezer working properly, we recommend cleaning them every so often.
To find the cooling coils, it's best to check your user manual. They're usually on the back, but the manual will show you exactly where they are and tell you about and any special precautions you might need to take.
Turn off the power and unplug it from the mains.
Slide the appliance away from the wall so you can get to the back of it.
Find the cooling coils. They might be under a panel or cover, which you'll need to remove.
Using a vacuum cleaner with the brush attachment, clean away any build-up of dust. If there's any dust on the fridge's fan, clean this too.
Any stubborn dirt, or sticky/fatty build up can be cleaned with warm soapy water and then rinsed and dried.
Replace the back panel if it has one.
Slide the fridge or freezer back into position and plug it back in.
We always recommend that you refer to the manufacturer's manual for specific details.
