Fixing HP Pavilion 15 Wi-Fi connection issues


The following HP Pavilion laptops can have Wi-Fi connection problems, including not being able to connect to a network, losing the connection, or being connected to the network but not the internet.

Check the product sticker on the bottom of your laptop to find the model number.

  • 15-ab155sa
  • 15-ah150sa
  • 15-ah151sa

To fix the problem you need to update a program called the BIOS. The steps laid out here will show you how to do this.

Updating the BIOS


Once on the page for your laptop model, follow these steps to fix your laptop:


Pick the Operating system from the drop-down menu.


Choose your Version.


Scroll down to BIOS and click the + symbol.


Click to Download the update labelled 'F.14 Rev.A' (15-ah models) or 'F.17 Rev.A' (15-ab models).


Leave 'Use HP Download and Install Assistant' selected and click Next.


Take note of the onscreen steps, then click OK.


When the download finishes, run the file and follow the onscreen instructions to install the update.
