Kit Guide: Fixing Windows update error '0x80000FFF'

This guide will help fix the error '0x80000FFF', which can come up after downloading updates on Windows 7.

There are two fixes to try with this error - the first is updating your software, and if that fix doesn't work, you can try a System Restore.

Fix 1: Updating the Intel software

Go to Intel's website and download the iata_enu.exe update.

Restart your computer and try to use Windows Update again.

Fix 2: Performing a System Restore

The problem should be fixed. If you're still having issues, try the fix below:

Start the computer and log on as an Administrator.

Click Start, and go to All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore.

Choose Restore my computer to an earlier time, then click Next.

Choose the most recent System Restore point from the the list, then click Next.

Choose Next on the confirmation window.

Restart your computer, and the system restore will start. Let it run (which might take a few minutes). Once it’s finished, the problem should be fixed.
