When you first get a Chromebook, or if you factory reset yours, you'll need to go through some steps to get it set-up. This guide will help you with each step, and get you through it as quickly as possible.
Press the power button to turn the laptop on in the top-right corner of the keyboard. You'll also need to make sure that you've got a Wi-Fi connection because the Chromebook is mainly designed for online use. You won't be able to complete the setup if you can't connect to the internet.
First, choose a Language and Keyboard setting using the drop down menus.
Use the third box to choose a Wi-Fi network. Type in the Wi-Fi password then click Connect.
When it's connected, click Continue.
There's some Terms and Conditions to agree to. Have a read through them then click Accept and continue.
If you've got a Google account, type in your email address and then click Next. If you haven't got one, choose More options then Create a new account and follow the instructions.
Type in your Google password and click Next.
Choose a picture to use for your account, or take a new one by clicking the camera icon at the top. Click OK to finish.
When the setup is finished, you can 'Take a tour' to get used to where things are on the Chromebook.
If you're out and about and want to connect to a new Wi-Fi network, here's how.
In the bottom-right corner of the desktop, click the Wi-Fi symbol.
Click the right arrow next to the network settings.
Click the network you want to connect to.
Type in the Wi-Fi password (if needed) then click Connect.
