Android APN settings for Smarty

Here's how to manually add Smarty mobile internet settings on an Android phone.

1.

Open Settings from the Home screen.

2.

Tap Wireless and networks or More (this'll depend on your Android version).

3.

Tap Mobile networks Access point names.

4.

Tap the Menu button (this could be the lower left soft key, 3 dots in the top right corner, or the word 'more').

5.

Tap New APN.

6.

Type the following:

  • Name: Smarty
  • APN - mob.asm.net
  • MMSC - http://mms.um.three.co.uk:10021/mmsc
  • MMS proxy - mms.three.co.uk
  • MMS port - 8799
  • APN Type - If you're given a list of options, choose internet+mms. If you're asked to type something, type a *
7.

Tap Menu Save.

8.

Pick the name we've just created.

9.

Next to your signal bars, you'll now see 4G, 3G, H, E or G. This shows you're now connected.

iPhone APN settings for Smarty

If your iPhone doesn't download the Smarty mobile internet settings automatically, here's how to add them manually.

1.

Tap Settings > Mobile/Cellular Data.

2.

Tap Mobile/Cellular Data Options.

3.

Tap Mobile/Cellular Data Network.

4.

Enter the information below:

Mobile or Cellular Data settings

  • APN: mob.asm.net

MMS settings

  • APN: mob.asm.net
  • MMSC: http://mms.um.three.co.uk:10021/mmsc
  • MMS proxy - mms.three.co.uk:8799
  • MMS max message size - 2079152
5.

Press the left arrow at the top of the screen 3 times.

6.

Press the Home button.

7.

To make sure these settings have worked, look next to the signal bars. When you see 4G, 3G, E or GPRS, you're connected.

BlackBerry APN settings for Smarty

Here are the Smarty APN settings to connect your BlackBerry 10 phone to mobile data. If your BlackBerry runs on the Android operating system, use those settings above.

Internet APN

1.

Swipe downwards from the top of the screen to get you to the notification panel.

2.

Tap Settings Network connections Mobile network.

3.

Tap APN Mobile plan and choose Contract or Prepay.

4.

Enter the following:

  • Access Point Name: mob.asm.net
5.

Tap Save (in the top right corner).

6.

You should now see 4G, 3G, H, E or G at the top of the screen. This shows you're connected.

MMS APN

1.

From the Home screen, swipe across to the BlackBerry Hub

2.

Tap Menu (3 dots) > Settings.

3.

Tap Text messages, then tap Advanced.

4.

Type in these settings:

  • APN: mob.asm.net
  • MMSC URL - http://mms.um.three.co.uk:10021/mmsc
  • Proxy URL - mms.three.co.uk:8799
5.

Tap Save at the bottom.

Windows phone APN settings for Smarty

Your Windows phone should connect to the web automatically, but if you're having problems, follow these steps to add the APN settings manually.

Windows 10 Mobile

1.

Swipe the screen from right to left. This'll open your apps list.

2.

Tap settings wireless and networks mobile + SIM.

3.

Tap SIM settings > + add an internet APN.

4.

Type the following:

  • Profile name: Smarty Internet
  • APN: mob.asm.net
5.

Tick the box next to 'Use this APN for LTE' then tap save.

6.

You'll now see 4G, 3G, H, E or G at the top of the screen. This shows that you've connected successfully.

7.

Tap + Add MMS APN.

8.

Type these settings:

  • Profile name - Smarty MMS
  • APN - mob.asm.net
  • Proxy server - mms.three.co.uk
  • Proxy port - 8799
  • MMSC URL - http://mms.um.three.co.uk:10021/mmsc
  • Maximum MMS size - 2097152
9.

Scroll to the bottom and tap Save.

Windows Phone 8.1

1.

Swipe the screen from right to left to open your apps list.

2.

Tap settings mobile + SIM or cellular + SIM.

3.

Check that the data connection is on, then tap SIM settings.

4.

The internet APN and MMS APN settings are separate. Tap edit internet apn.

5.

Type this in:

  • APN: mob.asm.net
6.

Tap Save. You'll know it's worked if you see 4G, 3G, H, E or G at the top of the screen.

7.

Tap edit MMS APN.

8.

Type these settings:

  • APN - mob.asm.net
  • WAP Gateway URL - mms.three.co.uk
  • WAP Gateway port - 8799
  • MMSC URL - http://mms.uk.three.co.uk:10021/mmsc
9.

Tap Save at the bottom.

Nokia feature phone APN settings for Smarty

If your Nokia feature phone isn't automatically connecting to the internet, you'll need to enter the Smarty APN settings manually. Here's how.

1.

Tap Menu Configuration Personal settings.

2.

Tap Options Add new Web.

3.

Tap Account name, type Smarty Internet, and tap OK.

4.

Tap Homepage, type http://m.google.com, and Tap OK.

5.

Tap Use pref. access pt. and tap No.

6.

Tap Acc. point sett > Bearer settings.

7.

Tap Pack. data acc.pt. and type mob.asm.net, then tap OK.

8.

Press the back button three times.

9.

Press and hold the network name, Smarty Internet and choose Activate.

10.

Press the back button again.

11.

Tap Default config. sett. then Tap Personal config.

12.

Tap default then press the back button twice to go back to the Home screen.

13.

You should see 3G, H, E or G, next to your signal bars, which means that you're connected.

1.

Tap Menu > Configuration > Personal settings.

2.

Tap Options > Add new > Multimedia msg.

3.

Tap Account name, type Smarty MMS and tap OK.

4.

Tap Server address, type http://mms.um.three.co.uk:10021/mmsc and tap OK.

5.

Tap Use pref. acc. pt. and tap No.

6.

Tap Acc point sett. > Proxy > Enable.

7.

Tap Proxy address, type mms.three.co.uk and tap OK.

8.

Tap Proxy port, type 8799 and tap OK.

9.

Tap Bearer settings.

10.

Tap Pack. data acc. pt., type mob.asm.net and tap OK.

11.

Tap Back three times.

12.

Press and hold your finger on the Smarty MMS name and tap Activate.

13.

Tap BackDef. config. sett. > Personal config.

14.

Tap Default, then tap Back twice to get to the Home screen.
