Kit Guide: How to fix the 5E (SE) error message on a Samsung hob


An SE/5E error message on the display of a Samsung ceramic hob means the control panel sensor has been on for too long.

We've written this short guide to help you fix it.

The cause


There are a few reasons why the sensor could be saying it's been on for too long:

  • Touching the key area for more than 10 seconds.
  • Leaving a wet cloth on the touch key area.
  • Spilling a liquid on the key area.
  • By touching 2 or more keys together.

How to fix it


All of these can be fixed by turning the hob power off at the wall, then back on again.
